A psychic is a person who professes an ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses through extrasensory perception (ESP), or is said by others to have such abilities.
A large industry exists whereby psychics provide advice and counsel to clients for a fee. Some famous contemporary psychics include Miss Cleo, John Edward, Sylvia Browne, and here in the Salina area, Spiritual Psychic Cynthia Killion.
In 1988 the U.S. National Academy of Sciences gave a report on the subject that concluded there is “no scientific justification from research conducted over a period of 130 years for the existence of parapsychological phenomena.
Psychics intrigue me. I’m not sure I think of them as anything more than entertainment, but there are a couple of psychics that I have met that seem to have an “energy” or “knowing” beyond supposed parlor tricks. Cynthia Killion is one of them.
When Cynthia was on my talk show and did her readings for the call-in guests, I was surprised to “feel” an energy shift. It literally gave me goose bumps. I asked her about this and she said that she has heard this before from the crew (non-believers I suppose?) when taping her other television and radio shows.
Then, after talking about her deceased mother, Cynthia asked if the air conditioning in the recording studio was on. I didn’t think so but I felt the air with my arm and in the area between Cynthia and me the air felt almost icy. Beyond our personal space the air temperature felt normal. Cynthia said that when spirits are present it can be felt by a coldness in the air. Maybe her mother stopped by for a visit? Fascinating.
Listen in to Cynthia’s interview this Saturday October 22,2011 and decide for yourself whether your a believer or not. Regardless, you’re sure to find it entertaining!
