For those of us here in the Midwest who grew up with hunting, living in a home with lots of guns and ammo is normal. City folk don’t seem to understand our way of life. Their exposure to guns is relegated to media stories of violence on the city streets.
Urban dwellers also don’t understand the relationship hunters and farmers have with their animals. While I wouldn’t call them inhumane, I sure don’t hear of farmers and hunters spending tons of money on their sick pets like urbanites do. For many, when their pet gets sick or old they simply take matters in to their own hands. No vet bills for putting their pets down.
Sooooo…..get over it! We have guns and we shoot animals for sport, for food, and sometimes to be humane.
This Saturday 12/3/11 on “The Joan Jerkovich Show”, I talk to a father and son about their hunting expeditions and fur trapping here in Saline county. Then, I talk with two hunters about their exotic big game hunt in Scotland. They got to hunt on the same private estates that Prince Charles and his sons Princes William and Harry hunt on. Was there a spotting of royals on this once-in-a-lifetime trip? Listen in and watch the video outtakes because you won’t want to miss this one!
