Anderson Cooper Publicly Comes Out

Anderson Cooper, national news reporter with CNN, wrote in a letter published today by Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Beast the following, “The fact is,  I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself and proud,”.

CNN’s official comment was that there would be “No Comment”, and that there would be no plans to discuss Coopers decision on the air.  Other notable national television news reporters who have come out are Rachel Maddow with MSNBC and Don Lemon with CNN.

Dear Anderson,

Both your decision to come out, and your decision to keep publicly quiet as long as you did, will inspire others to live their own truth and act in their own time.  You are a mentor to those who struggle with this decision on a daily basis.

Your fans (and this writer is certainly one of them!) love and support you, and besides, who couldn’t love you in this picture with our favorite “Fat Cat” Meow, may he rest in peace!

The universe is smiling on you…
